BUILDING MATERIALS manufacturer maxit Group has established a new company, maxit Building Products (Ireland) Limited, in response to a healthy 180% increase in sales in Ireland over the past three years.

The new Irish base south of Dublin will handle sales and distribution of maxit’s core products in Ireland – renders, flooring products and LWA: a multi-purpose expanded clay lightweight aggregate infill product. Alongside this, maxit Ireland will also introduce new product ranges into the country.

The new headquarters at Citywest Business Campus was established with help from neighbour maxit UK and officially opened last month by maxit CEO Cornelius Altena. Following this opening, maxit is in the process of setting up a local warehousing facility, also in the Dublin area.

Chris Mahony, managing director of maxit UK, who helped set up the Irish operation, says: “The new office is part of a young and vibrant business community, surrounded by high tech companies in industries such as IT and telecoms. It gives the new Irish company a solid infrastructure to support the recent substantial growth in turnover.

“The location is a purpose-built business campus, similar to our own at The Heath here in the UK, and I am confident its situation just outside the capital will be the perfect base from which to grow the business.”
